Our curriculum is designed in response to our vision, the requirements of the National Curriculum, the location of our school and our community.
We closely follow the National Curriculum and look to meet the specific needs of our pupils by providing learning that takes into consideration their context and their life experiences.
We ensure that the curriculum we provide is engaging, exciting and equips children with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed. Despite being organised around half termly themes, each subject is taught discretely, with key knowledge and skills carefully sequenced to support new learning. Oracy skills, reading and key vocabulary are embedded within units of learning, so that pupils can think and communicate effectively within subjects.
Through our engaging curriculum and learning opportunities, children are supported to learn more, do more and remember more.
The curriculum is underpinned by our core values, promoting kindness, honesty, respect and resilience.
Learning focuses on quality delivery of a core curriculum, enhanced with opportunities and experiences that challenge pupils, develop resilience and promote enrichment. Although our curriculum is aspirational, broad and balanced, we support all pupils to have access to it, to experience success, and to be able to identify their talents and interests within subjects that may lead to a future career.
