Curriculum by subject
Each subject within the National Curriculum has specific knowledge and skills that are essential to developing proficiency within that subject. The substantive and disciplinary knowledge is carefully selected and sequenced so that new knowledge builds on and is supported by previous learning. To support each curriculum intent (content), we use a range of schemes that have been selected for their challenge and sequencing to support the school vision for the pupils of Braeburn. In this way, we have long term and medium term planning that maps out the concepts, knowledge and vocabulary that is to be taught in each year group, lesson by lesson.
