Community

Community engagement and collaboration are a key focus at Braeburn. By fostering strong relationships with parents, local organisations, and the wider community, we can enhance the educational experience for our children and create a supportive network. This includes organising community events, encouraging parent volunteer programs, and partnering with local businesses for resources and support. Engaging the community not only enriches the learning environment but also helps build a sense of belonging and pride among students, staff, and community members. By working collaboratively, Braeburn Primary School can ensure a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom, preparing pupils for a successful future.

Mrs Hunter and Mrs Aitken are the community leads. If you would like to find out more about what we offer, do not hesitate to contact us.

Family Learning

We are very fortunate to be able to offer family learning sessions in school each week. During these sessions, you will work with your child on a variety of activities, learn some new skills and have fun! It is also a good opportunity to get to know people, find out a bit more about school life and ask questions. We invite grandparents or other family members to attend if parents are busy.

Here is an overview of what we currently offer:

We are proud to work with North Yorkshire Adult Services. We curently have many parents completing the CAHCE Level One ‘Preparing to Work in a School’ course.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme

We are a FEAST provider and run holiday clubs. Mrs Hunter is the school contact for this and works in collaboration with FEAST and the DFE to coordinate a holiday programme combining healthy food and enriching activities for eligible children and young people.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme aims to reduce the opportunity gap and offer eligible children the chance to take part in fun and free school holiday activities.
