All our school meals are freshly prepared by an on site catering team, Hutchisons Catering. The menus are agreed between our catering manager Mrs Oliver and the school, using ingredients such as:

Please advise the school office of any special dietary requirements. Please note we are a ‘nut free’ school and nuts should not be included in packed lunches from home.
If you would like to discuss your child’s dietary requirements or allergies please call the school office on 01723 582616 and we will be able to arrange a meeting with Mrs Oliver to discuss this.

Whilst we feel that all children benefit from a freshly cooked meal at lunchtime we understand that some parents prefer to send in a packed lunch. If this is the case we ask that you provide a healthy lunch which includes a balanced variety of food groups. Sweets and fizzy drinks are not allowed. We encourage parents not to send in nuts or nut products in children’s packed lunches, as we have some children who can suffer severe allergic reactions. This also applies to packed lunches for educational visits.
From September 2014 Key Stage One children (Reception, Years 1 and 2) are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal. This is offered automatically and does not need to be applied for.
For Years 3 to 6 the current cost of a school meal is £2.80. This can be paid by visiting www.parentpay.com or visiting the office and using our card payment machine. Please note school dinners must be paid for on the day they are taken or in advance If you have any difficulties accessing your account please contact the school office. Please also refer to our arrears policy for how we will handle accounts that fall into arrears.
Pupils in all years may be entitled to free school meals due to their family circumstances. This helps to increase the funding the school receives via the pupil premium grant, and we ask all parents to apply for free school meals whether or not you believe your child will be eligible. Please see the http://northyorks.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals for guidance. We use an online system to process our free school meal applications and ask for your consent to apply on your behalf when your child joins our school. This ensures that if your circumstances change, the school is automatically made aware and free school meals can be offered to your child much more swiftly than having to ask you to manually reapply. This also means that when your child moves from Year 2 to Year 3, you know whether your child will continue to receive free meals.
